Mercedes-AMG crowns spectacular VLN year with numerous titles and sixth consecutive overall win

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport has successfully concluded this year’s season in the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring: in the ninth and final round in the Eifel, Maro Engel and Patrick Assenheimer (both GER) of the BLACK FALCON Team AutoArena Motorsport (#6) beat the entire opposition in a real thrilling showdown and secured the sixth consecutive win for AMG. The final championship standings at the end of an exciting and high-class season also reflect this successful track record: both in the SP9 Pro and SP8T classes as well as in the SP10 category, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach secured the respective titles. Moreover, BLACK FALCON Team AutoArena Motorsport wins the coveted ROWE Speed Trophy. The strong performance of the new Mercedes-AMG GT3 completed the successful race weekend at the 44thDMV Münsterlandpokal.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport claims Blancpain GT World Challenge manufacturers’ crown

Mercedes-AMG intends to continue successful streak in FIA GT World Cup with top line-up

One of the most spectacular motorsport events of the year is getting closer and Mercedes-AMG is prepared for it in an excellent way. The FIA GT World Cup in Macau from 14-17 November will see Maro Engel (GER), Raffaele Marciello (ITA), Edoardo Mortara (SUI) and Alessio Picariello (BEL) as the drivers of four strong Mercedes-AMG GT3 entries with extended works support. Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing will be running two of the cars while Mercedes-AMG Team Craft-Bamboo Racing is running the other two cars. The strong line-up is to continue the meanwhile five-year long streak of success that includes three victories and a total of eight podium results at the Macau Grand Prix.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport again claims champions’ titles in IMSA GTD and GS class

For the third time in a row, Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports (#33) wins the teams’ title in the Michelin Endurance Cups of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. After their title wins in the years 2017 and 2018, Ben Keating (USA) and Jeroen Bleekemolen (NED) finish in fourth place of their class in the ten-hour race Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and crown their season, supported by Felipe Fraga (BRA) with the drivers’ title in the hard-fought endurance classification of the GTD category. Moreover, there are successes in the GTD and GS class manufacturers’ championships to celebrate: both in the Endurance competition of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach comes out on top after a season full of excitement.

Mercedes-AMG scores fifth consecutive win in VLN at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

The Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER wins the eighth round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring with its drivers Maximilian Buhk (GER) and Raffaele Marciello (ITA) in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3. As a result, the team scores the fifth consecutive overall win for the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Third place goes to the winning team from the previous round, GetSpeed Performance with starting number 2 and its drivers Philip Ellis (GER) and Maximilian Götz (GER). Fourth place for the #6 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of the Team BLACK FALCON AutoArena Motorsport rounded out the top result in the Eifel. The new Mercedes-AMG GT3, developed for the 2020 season, also passed its baptism of fire at the Nordschleife with flying colours.

Mercedes-AMG to go on ‘title safari’ during IGTC season finale in South Africa

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is heading into the fifth and final race of the season in the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli (IGTC) as the leader in the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings. This year’s season finale of the series (21-23 November) is held at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the first time. The track in South Africa is to become the venue for a crowning season end for Mercedes-AMG: the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach having won the drivers’ championship and having become runner-up in the final manufacturers’ standings last year, the double with both titles is the goal this time. In total, seven Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be racing at the 4.522 kilometres long track, three of which with extended works support.

Mercedes-AMG with successful Blancpain GT Series season finale at Barcelona

After an action-packed season finale, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is celebrating a successful end of the season at Barcelona: Maro Engel, Luca Stolz (both GER) and BLACK FALCON secure runner-up positions in the Blancpain GT Series drivers’ and teams’ standings while AKKA ASP, another team with the Mercedes-AMG GT3, claims third place in the teams’ standings. Prior to the finale, AKKA ASP was already in a position to prepare the grand celebration of the Silver Cup triple as it was beyond reach: the French team wins the overall, the sprint and the endurance titles in the Silver Cup drivers’ and teams’ standings while triple champion Nico Bastian (GER) accomplishes the same feat. Together with his teammates Timur Boguslavskiy (RUS) and Felipe Fraga (BRA), he also scored the Silver Cup race win at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya ahead of fellow Mercedes-AMG team BLACK FALCON with Patrick Assenheimer (GER), David Fumanelli (ITA) and Hubert Haupt (GER) who completed the 1-2 in class. As a result, Assenheimer and Haupt also ended up as runners-up in the Silver Cup Endurance Cup standings, as did RAM Racing drivers Tom Onslow-Cole (GBR) and Remon Vos (NED) in the Pro-AM class. Jim Pla (FRA) and AKKA ASP become runners-up in the overall Blancpain GT Series Pro-Am standings (drivers and teams).

Successful end of the ADAC GT Masters season for Mercedes-AMG

With a victory and two further podium results, Mercedes-AMG bows out of the 2019 ADAC GT Masters season. In the finale at the Sachsenring, Maximilian Götz (GER) and Indy Dontje (NED) of the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport (#47) managed to win the race on Saturday. In the same race, the Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing secured third place with the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3. The #21 sister car finished in second place in the race on Sunday. In the ADAC GT Masters drivers’ standings, the duo of Götz/Dontje missed out on runner-up spot by only one point. Marvin Dienst (GER) and Aidan Read (AUS) of Customer Racing Team Schütz Motorsport conclude the season in second place of the Junior cup standings.

Fourth consecutive victory for Mercedes-AMG in VLN at Nürburgring-Nordschleife

Dominik Baumann (AUT) and Fabian Schiller (GER) have won the seventh round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring with their #2 GetSpeed Performance Mercedes-AMG GT3. With its first victory of the season at the Nordschleife, the Customer Racing Team also secures the fourth consecutive VLN race win for the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach. Second place overall also goes to a Mercedes-AMG GT3: with the #48 car of the Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER, Edoardo Mortara (ITA), Tim Scheerbarth and Lance David Arnold (both GER) secured a podium finish. The top result was completed with the already fifth SP8T class win of the season achieved by the Mercedes-AMG GT4 with starting number 152 by BLACK FALCON Team KNUFFI.

Fourth consecutive podium for Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing is looking back upon an action-packed ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Hockenheimring: in race one, Maximilian Götz (GER) and Indy Dontje (NED) of the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport (#47) finished in second place and secured a podium finish for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport for the fourth consecutive event. Meanwhile, Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing (#21) only just missed out on a podium finish in fourth place, but did still score valuable championship points with its best result of the season to date. In the second race, all four Mercedes-AMG GT3 that had taken the start finished in the points.
