Second place for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Blancpain GT Series season opener

A successful season opener for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Blancpain GT Series: in the second race of the Sprint Cup at Zolder, all four Mercedes-AMG GT3, each of them run by AKKA ASP, finished in the top ten. Classified in second place, Raffaele Marciello (ITA) and Michael Meadows (GBR) made it onto the podium for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. The cars with starting numbers 35 and 90 made it onto the podium in the Silver class both in race one on Saturday and in race two on Sunday.

Second place for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and a class win for the Mercedes-AMG GT4 at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

The second round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring already saw Mercedes-AMG Motorsport claim its first overall podium finish of the new season: driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with starting number 14, run by Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON, Adam Christodoulou (GBR), Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Dirk Müller (all GER) finished in second place. In total, four Mercedes-AMG GT3 made it into the top ten of the overall classification. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 rounded out the successful performance with a class win in the SP8T category and another podium finish in the SP10 class.

Mercedes-AMG with ambitious goals and a strong line-up for Nürburgring 24 Hours

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is full of ambition for the 46th running of the ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen: after its victories in 2013 and 2016, the performance brand from Affalterbach again aims at a podium finish this year. With their high-quality line-ups, the Mercedes-AMG Performance Teams BLACK FALCON and HTP Motorsport rank among the favourites at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The campaigns by the Customer Racing Teams also convince with high quality. In total, the plan is for seven Mercedes-AMG GT3s to compete. Three Mercedes-AMG GT4s will be added, these will be making their 24-hour debut in the ‘Green Hell’.

Two Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the top ten in season opener at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

With a pair of top ten results and the maiden class win for the Mercedes-AMG GT4, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is looking back upon a successful season opener of this year’s Langstreckenmeisterschaft at the Nürburgring. The 64. ADAC Westfalenfahrt, the first round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft, saw Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER finish in fifth place overall with the #47 Mercedes-AMG GT3. The sister car with starting number 48 secured another top ten result by finishing eighth. The maiden class win of the Mercedes-AMG GT4 rounded out the good achievement.

Podium success for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in Sebring 12-hour race

After its victory from the previous year, the Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsport again finished on the podium in the 12-hour race at Sebring. In the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship that remained thrilling till the end, Jeroen Bleekemolen (NED), Ben Keating (USA) and Luca Stolz (GER) secured third place in the GTD class with the #33 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and also took the lead in the North American Endurance Cup. With SunEnergy1 Racing finishing in tenth place, another team with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 also scored a top ten result. The round of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge that was held on the support package of the 12-hour race was also successful: the Customer Racing Teams secured a total of four top ten results with the Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Victory for Mercedes-AMG at Silverstone

With victory in the Silverstone twelve-hour race, ROFGO Racing sealed the next season win for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in the 24H GT Series. After a strong performance with the #31 Mercedes-AMG GT3, Roald Goethe (GER), Stuart Hall and Daniel Brown (both GBR) secured the overall win as well as first place in the A6-PRO class. With PROsport Performance in seventh place, another Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing Team made it into the top ten.

Mercedes-AMG starts off Intercontinental GT Challenge season with a pair of podium finishes

Teams with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 enjoyed a good start into the Intercontinental GT Challenge during the Bathurst twelve-hour race. With second place overall, the #75 Mercedes-AMG Team SunEnergy1 entry with Kenny Habul (AUS), Tristan Vautier (FRA), Jamie Whincup (AUS) and Raffaele Marciello (ITA) had a successful start of the season. Seventh place for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with starting number 55, driven by David Fumanelli (ITA), Nick Leventis (GBR), Cameron Waters (AUS) and Lewis Williamson (GBR) meant another top ten result. British team STRAKKA Racing that made its competition debut for Mercedes-AMG at Mount Panorama, thus also scored a podium finish in the PRO-AM class in an action-packed endurance race that included numerous safety car interventions.

Mercedes-AMG starts the Intercontinental GT Challenge season at the “Bathurst 12 Hour”

In the 2018 season, Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing has its focus on the Intercontinental GT Challenge and will be competing with at least one Mercedes-AMG GT3 in every round of the endurance championship. The championship, organised by SRO Motorsports Group, gets underway with the season opener, the twelve-hour race in Bathurst, Australia (2-4 February). Five Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be racing down under at the demanding Mount Panorama Circuit. The Mercedes-AMG Team STRAKKA Racing will be running two cars (#55, #56) while Mercedes-AMG Team SunEnergy1 (#75), Scott Taylor Motorsport (#8) and Nineteen Corp P/L (#19) will have one car each.
