Podium success for Mercedes-AMG at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg

Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing scores its first podium finish of the season in the third round of the ADAC GT Masters at Spielberg in Austria. Maximilian Götz (GER) and Indy Dontje (NED) of the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport finished second after a strong performance in the race on Sunday and are also back in contention for the title race as a result. Mercedes-AMG Driver Götz thus also got himself the podium result as a nice present for his 100thrace in the ADAC GT Masters. On the previous day, the three Mercedes-AMG GT3s of the Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing (#21 and #20) as well as the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport #48 finished in the point-scoring positions in the first race.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport scores a pair of Blancpain GT Series class wins

The third round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup had highs and lows in store for Mercedes-AMG. The highly-rated six-hour race at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France brought two class wins by the AKKA ASP Team: Nico Bastian (GER), Timur Boguslavskiy (RUS) and Felipe Fraga (BRA) came out on top in the Silver Cup, their teammates Jean-Luc Beaubelique, Jim Pla (both FRA) and Mauro Ricci (ITA) took the spoils in the Pro-Am classification. Bad luck in the race prevented a top result for Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON: Yelmer Buurman (NED), Maro Engel and Luca Stolz (both GER) finished 15th and also lost their lead in the overall standings. The Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP entry with defending Blancpain GT Series champion Raffaele Marciello (ITA) retired.

A turbulent final test for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

For Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, the final test prior to the 24-hour race was an affair with ups and downs. In the sixth running of the 24h qualification race, the Mercedes-AMG teams and drivers racked up valuable test mileage in changeable conditions at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Two cars finished in the top ten of the 6-hour race. Having started from pole position, the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON car with starting number 6 was the best-placed Mercedes-AMG GT3 across the finish line in fifth place. The #3 sister car finished in tenth place after 41 laps. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 added further class success with victory and third place in the classes SP8T and SP10. In the opening stages of practice, however, an accident involving starting numbers 2 and 16 caused upset. Drivers Manuel Metzger (GER) and Dominik Baumann (AUT) were taken to hospital as a precaution, but are already on the way to recovery.

High-class driver line-up by Mercedes-AMG for Nürburgring 24-hour race

During the season highlight at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport will be attacking again with a strong line-up. The goal is clear: bringing the next victory in the Nürburgring 24-hour race after 2013 and 2016 to Affalterbach. To this end, a total of seven Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be competing in the legendary endurance racing classic, four of them with extended factory support. The teams to run the Performance cars with their top line-ups are Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON and Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER. Meanwhile, plans for the three further Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 by GetSpeed Performance in the field of the 24-hour race also look promising.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport defends Blancpain GT Series overall lead

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is looking back upon an action-packed second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup: in the three-hour race at Silverstone, Dev Gore (USA), Jack Hawksworth und Lewis Williamson (both GBR) finish in fifth place with the #43 STRAKKA Racing entry. Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON with Yelmer Buurman (NED), Maro Engel (GER) and Luca Stolz (GER) defends its lead in the overall standings of the Blancpain GT Series by finishing seventh. Victory in the Pro-Am class by the #74 RAM Racing car and third place in the Silver Cup by the AKKA ASP Team with starting number 90 round out the race weekend.

A series of wins for Mercedes-AMG in Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe season opener

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport celebrates a very successful start of the season in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe: with a 1-2 in the first race, the Customer Racing Teams had a perfect start into the 2019 season. Nico Bastian (GER) and Thomas Neubauer (FRA) of the AKKA ASP Team showed a very strong performance with overall victory and the Silver Cup class win, even finishing ahead of the Pro cars. Maro Engel and Luca Stolz (both GER) for BLACK FALCON completed the 1-2 with second place. Engel/Stolz then went on to claim the overall win in race two while Bastian/Neubauer scored another Silver Cup class win. An additional overall victory and a class win for the Leipert Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the GT4 European Series rounded out the victorious weekend at Brands Hatch.

Mercedes-AMG with highs and lows in ADAC GT Masters season opener

During the ADAC GT Masters at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams had a rather patchy start of the season: the race on Saturday brought a pair of top ten results by Marvin Dienst (GER) and Aidan Read (AUS), who finished in fifth place with the #36 Schütz Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3, and Maximilian Götz (GER) and Indy Dontje (NED) of the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport, who concluded an entertaining recovery in ninth place. In the race on Sunday, Götz/Dontje drove the #47 Mercedes-AMG GT3 to eighth place, scoring further championship points in the super sports car league.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport was able to score a strong team result in the third round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft. In difficult and changeable conditions in the Eifel, the #14 Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON celebrated a podium success in third place overall. With the BLACK FALCON Team AutoArena Motorsport car with starting number 6 and the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON entry with starting number 16, two further cars from Affalterbach made it into the top ten. Victory for Team GetSpeed Rooster Rojo in the SP9 PRO-AM class and first place for BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA in the SP10 class rounded out the successful achievement by the sports car and performance brand from Affalterbach.

Mercedes-AMG to start the new ADAC GT Masters season with a promising line-up

With the teams’ title for the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG made its mark in the ADAC GT Masters last year. This year, the drivers’ title is also to be brought to Affalterbach. To this end, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams are relying on strong driver pairings. First and foremost MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport that is running a car for the two title candidates Maximilian Götz (GER) and Indy Dontje (NED). In the team’s second Mercedes-AMG GT3, Fabian Vettel, who will be making his ADAC GT Masters debut, will be alternating with Philip Ellis (both GER). With Schütz Motorsport and a pair of cars from Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing, a total of five Mercedes-AMG GT3s will be racing in the season opener at Oschersleben (26-28 April).

Mission double title defence Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe

For Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, the two races at Brands Hatch in the UK on Sunday 5 May, mark the start of part three of the global Blancpain GT World Challenge sprint race championship after America and Asia. In the process, it is not just about points for the manufacturers’ standings, but also the start of mission title defence in the former Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup. In the first round at Brands Hatch, Raffaele Marciello (ITA) will be racing for Mercedes-AMG as the reigning champion and as a driver eligible to score points. Other drivers who will be racing for points in the continental manufacturers’ championship are Luca Stolz (GER) for BLACK FALCON as well as Jean-Luc Beaubelique (FRA)/Mauro Ricci (ITA) and Thomas Neubauer (FRA) for the French AKKA ASP Team.
