A successful team result for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season opener: with third place overall, reigning champions Yelmer Buurman (NED), Maro Engel (GER) and Luca Stolz (GER) of the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON got themselves into a good position for a successful Endurance Cup title defence. In the Silver Cup, the AKKA ASP Team with Nico Bastian (GER), Timur Boguslavskiy (RUS) and Felipe Fraga (BRA) and BLACK FALCON with Patrick Assenheimer (GER), Hubert Haupt (GER) and Gabriele Piana (ITA) made it a 1-2.

Mercedes-AMG ready for Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup title defence

With this weekend’s opening round at Monza in Italy, Mercedes-AMG is starting off the new Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season. Following the multiple title wins in 2018, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach again has a strong line-up for the new season. Among others, the title-winning driver trio of Yelmer Buurman (NED), Maro Engel (GER) and Luca Stolz (GER) will be racing together. In another one of the eight Mercedes-AMG GT3s that will be competing in the season opener, Raffaele Marciello (ITA) will be one of the drivers. For the Blancpain GT Series champion, the battle for the overall title defence gets underway at Monza.

Podium success at the California 8 Hours gives Mercedes-AMG a double lead in the IGTC

After third place at Bathurst, Mercedes-AMG also scored a podium finish at Laguna Seca in the second round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC): second place for the car with starting number 999 of the Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing with Maximilian Buhk (GER), Maximilian Götz (GER) and Raffaele Marciello (ITA) in the California 8 Hours. As a result, the trio also moves up into the lead of the drivers’ standings. In total, three Mercedes-AMG GT3s managed to finish in the top ten of the endurance race. With the good result, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach also extends its lead in the IGTC manufacturers’ standings.

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport starts VLN season with a top ten result and class wins

With seventh place in the overall classification and a pair of class wins for the Mercedes-AMG GT4, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport enjoyed a successful start of the season at the Nürburgring. Shortened due to weather conditions, the 65th ADAC Westfalenfahrt, the opening round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring, saw the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport finishing in seventh place with the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3. The BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA entry with starting number 162 repeated the class win for the Mercedes-AMG GT4 from the previous year. Moreover, the #155 BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR claimed victory in the SP8T class.

Mercedes-AMG ready to take on round two of the Intercontinental GT Challenge

The mission ‘Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) title defence’ is entering its second round: at Laguna Seca Raceway, a total of four Mercedes-AMG GT3s will be competing in the California 8 Hours of Laguna Seca on the last weekend of March. The race that crowned the international endurance race series season in 2018 and saw Mercedes-AMG score a pair of drivers’ titles is scheduled as the second round for this year. After the successful season opener in Australia (Bathurst 12 Hour), Mercedes-AMG is heading to California not only with a strong line-up of teams and drivers, but also as the leader in the IGTC manufacturers’ standings.

Mercedes-AMG scores first points in Blancpain GT World Challenge America

An exciting opportunity for Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing has been added with immediate effect. Last weekend, four Mercedes-AMG GT3s competed in the Blancpain GT World Challenge America at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) and got the new international platform of the Blancpain GT World Challenge with additional championships in Asia and Europe underway. During the season opener in Austin, Mercedes-AMG announced its drivers who are eligible to score points, namely David Askew (USA), Maximilian Buhk (GER), George Kurtz (USA) and JC Perez (COL). With a pair of fourth-place finishes in the Pro-Am class, the teams had a solid start of the North American campaign.

In the field of 28 GT3 cars, Mercedes-AMG has the largest contingent of all manufacturers. Mercedes-AMG with seventh place in turbulent and rainy IMSA season opener at Daytona

The 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship got underway with a memorable Daytona 24-hour race. Heavy rain largely prevented any regular racing in the final third of the race. Notwithstanding the adverse conditions, the Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports shone with a strong performance at the legendary Daytona International Speedway: Jeroen Bleekemolen (NED), Felipe Fraga (BRA), Ben Keating (USA) and Luca Stolz (GER) racked up laps in the lead throughout the race distance. With two hours remaining, a second interruption of the race brought the decision with seventh place in the GTD class for the Mercedes-AMG quartet. The second Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the field, run by P1 Motorsports, had to retire from the race after a promising performance.
